Contemporary house in timber cladding and black zinc, lit at dusk, built around a large eucalyptus

Eucalyptus House

An architect-designed house built around a tree that was never to be felled.
Price 2,950,000 €
Reference MV-238

The location

The brief was simple: preserve the century-old eucalyptus in the middle of the plot. The house was organised around it, in two offset volumes connected by a glazed gallery, leaving the tree its space and its shade.

The vertical timber cladding weathers as intended; the black zinc upper floor houses the bedrooms. On the ground floor, the living space opens onto a terrace and lawn with no visible fence.

Completed in 2019, the house has had only one owner.
